This Emulator stemmed from ColEm, it emulates the Colecovision and the Coleco Adam.CrabEmu is a Sega Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000, ColecoVision and NES emulator for Mac OS X, Linux and Sega Dreamcast, developed by Lawrence Sebald.Yea, maybe you're right. It should run most ColecoVision games and supports Coleco's SuperAction controllers with spin wheels. ColEm is a portable emulator of the old ColecoVision videogame console and Coleco Adam personal computer. Coleco - ColecoVision Emulators.Settings are also unified so configuration is done once and for all. It enables you to run classic games on a wide range of computers and consoles through its slick graphical interface. If games don't work with it, what's the point?RetroArch is a frontend for emulators, game engines and media players. It's not on par with VICE and Stella, which are quality emulators that everyone loves.
Colecovision Emulator Mac OS XAnyone else interested, feel free to chime in and we can make a community decision on a new emulator.OpenEmu, an open source retro and arcade game emulator for OS X, has been updated to version 2.0.1 with support for 16 additional gaming systems, including Nintendo 64, Sony PlayStation 1 and PSP. Maybe he can check out Colem and see how it works for him. I think he had issues with VColeco, too. I think that's the only thing that makes it the "Twin Galaxies is interested in Coleco emulation. I think NTSC should be the default for emulation, frankly. It sounds like a slow crawling piece of crap when you have it on PAL, but the speed and sound look just right on NTSC. Should PAL or NTSC be used, for starters.PAL is the default on that emulator, oddly enough however, I switched to NTSC from the get-go. Is that what you played your Burger Time game on, Christopher? We'd also have to come up with some basic rules for the emulator. I see that PAL is the default. Pokemon gba emulator for macNice and simple, too.I started thinking how the C have only one emulator. Having to press F4 (twice) seems like a requirement. I guess if we want to verify NTSC/PAL settings, have all user press F4 (change to PAL), then F4 again (back to NTSC).Question: Will this also be allowed to use for non "Super Game Module" games?Question: Will this also be allowed to use for non "Super Game Module" games?Perfect. It also loads by default as NTSC and I don't see any option to change that.As for rules, just play the game on this one. The configuration options are limited, no cheat option or autofire from what I see. It runs smooth, zero crashes or defects. Now, too bad the forums that something like this would be posted in, are archived. No one has posted anything negative about it ColEm and CoolCV (obviously) works for SGM games, so let's wrap it up.Done. I gave it another shot just now and had the same slow running game.Alright, you're cool with ColEm as the main emulator, and CoolCV for SGM games. You can find it I'm cool with Colem as the official Colecovision emulator and CoolCV for only the "Super Game Module" games.Yep, that's the version I tried. It's odd that based on the amount of peppers used versus picked up, by the time we get mid way through the 5th loop, we should be seeing the pepper icons drop as we get below 10, and by the end of loop 5 and onward, the peppers should be at a negative value (re-going thru the last half of the video - the 12th loop alone seems to show a net loss of 20 peppers), that i can't readily explain. I've gotten about halfway thru a second time to double check some of the stats during the run (Attached). Anyone know if that has any effect or matters?I've been going thru the vid, doing some stats (scoring on levels and whatnot, i'm a BT-nut :P ), but i've run into some odd circumstances. I gave it another shot just now and had the same slow running game.Tried out colem 4.1 and 4.2 tonight and noticed that they default out of the box to both PAL in the Hardware menu, but also in the Video menu it defaults to PAL 50 HZ and 'draw 75% (of) frames'. I'm not sure how the cheats work with the emulator, but if anything were to look out of order (I'm sure it's legit) , someone here would spot it.Sorry to have hijacked this submission thread with the emulator discussion, but it's resolved now. This submission is good-to-go for adjudicating :)Yep, that's the version I tried. Rapid fire and cheats weren't shown unchecked, but, rapid fire isn't an issue with BT (salt? lol). I always make sure to gain more peppers than I actually use in fact, I sacrifice some lives for that very purpose. Sometimes if there's multiple enemies near you, it looks like you shoot peppers twice when you only actually shoot it once and press the button just once.
